CFMOTO Asterius Aspar Team aiming for first points

Jake Dixon will start from fourteenth position while Izan Guevara will start from twenty-third

Aron Canet continues his hot streak with pole position at the Grand Prix of the Americas. Canet, who arrived in Austin leading the Moto2 standings after taking the first win of his Moto2 career at Portimao, will start from the front of the grid tomorrow after setting a time of 2:07.631 in his final attempt in Q2. Canet has beaten at the chequered flag Fermín Aldeguer, who was one of the favourites in the fight for pole in Moto2. Aldeguer had led two of the three practice sessions held at the Grand Prix of the Americas and in the last one he has set the track record (2:07.543) by beating his own time set yesterday. Aldeguer has been just a tenth off Canet's pole position and will start from second position, while Sergio Garcia will start from third.  García has achieved his best qualifying in the intermediate category as he has qualified on the front row for the first time.

CFMOTO Asterius Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon will start from fourteenth position tomorrow. The Briton has made it straight into Q2 in his first qualifying of the season after his crash at the opening Grand Prix in Qatar. Dixon will face his first race of the year tomorrow, and will be hoping to make a step forward to fight for front positions after being just six tenths off pole. His teammate Izan Guevara will start from twenty-third position. The CFMOTO Asterius Aspar Team rider has not been able to qualify for Q2 and will have to come back from eighth line on the grid tomorrow to score his first points of the season.

14th Jake Dixon (+0.650):"Practices have gone well, although we have some things to improve. I have done my best, but I have not had the best grip. Tomorrow will be my first race this season and we have to make a step forward."

23rd Izan Guevara (+1.239): "It is been a difficult weekend. I have struggled to adapt to the circuit and I still need to improve in several areas. Tomorrow we will fight for a comeback and we will fight until the last lap to score points."
