JEREZ TEST

CFMOTO Aspar Team satisfied with final pre-season test

Holgado and Alonso completed three days of testing at Jerez to prepare for their move to the intermediate category

The CFMOTO Aspar Team has concluded the 2025 pre-season at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto. Dani Holgado and David Alonso, who are in their first year in Moto2, have completed nearly 350 laps over the three days in order to be as prepared as possible for the first race of the season in Thailand. Both riders consolidated their progress on the final day, closing the gap on the timesheets and within a second of the fastest rider, Aron Canet.

Thursday concluded with very close results for the intermediate category riders, with both in the top three fastest rookies. Dani Holgado was the quickest for the CFMOTO Aspar Team, although only a few thousandths of a second off his team-mate. The Spanish rider is getting more and more comfortable with both the team and the bike in a year full of new developments. With 55 laps completed today (179 total), Holgado set his best time in the second session of the day. His 1:40.695 put him in nineteenth position. David Alonso also took advantage of the last session to gather as much information as possible with his Kalex. The Colombian focused on working on his pace and improving his feeling on the track, setting the twentieth fastest time of the day (1:40.695). With 56 laps completed on Thursday, the CFMOTO Aspar Team rider concludes the test with 170 laps under his belt and ready to travel to Thailand next week.

19º Dani Holgado 1:40.695 (+1.143, 55 laps): "I'm very happy with how these three days have gone, they've been quite productive. My confidence with the bike has been increasing day by day. We've tried several things that I think can be useful for the start of the season. I want to thank the team for their incredible work, because they've been able to understand me and help me in my first steps in this new category. Now it's time to rest for a few days before travelling to Thailand for the first race of the year."

20º David Alonso 1:40.695 (+1.145, 56 laps): "The tests have helped us understand the bike better and to gradually pick up the pace. This category is not easy and there are times when it will be difficult for us to find the way to keep pushing, especially the closer we are to the fastest times. Right now, I feel like I'm thinking a lot on the bike, it's part of learning, and I am sure the less I think on the bike, the better I'll be able to ride. We're working on it."
