Izan Guevara has scored points again after finishing thirteenth. His teammate Jake Dixon has crashed when he was seventh
Celestino Vietti, Aron Canet and Tony Arbolino have been the clear protagonists of the Emilia - Romagna GP. The three riders have been one step ahead of the rest in the race at the Misano World Circuit - Marco Simoncelli and have shared the three podium positions after a tough fight. Arbolino, who has started from third position, has taken the lead on the first lap and has been the one who has led for much of the race, with Canet and Vietti following close behind. With six laps to go, Canet and Vietti have showed their cards and has begun the exchange of positions between the three leading riders. On the last lap, Arbolino has had a problem with his bike's gearbox, which has prevented him from fighting for victory until the end. Canet and Vietti have battled until the finish line and it has been the Italian who has won, just 29 thousandths ahead of the Spanish. The World Championship leader Ai Ogura has finished fourth, almost three seconds off the win. With this fourth place, the Japanese rider has increased his World Championship lead to 22 points over his teammate Sergio Garcia, who has crashed.
The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team has had a bittersweet race in the Emilia - Romagna GP. While Izan Guevara has had a great race and has been able to finish in the points again, Jake Dixon has crashed. Guevara, who has started from twenty-fourth position, has made a great comeback to thirteenth place. The Spanish has been really strong at the start of the race and, on the first lap, he was already in fifteenth position. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has been able to maintain a great pace throughout the race and has ended really satisfied with the result after a difficult weekend. His teammate Jake Dixon has had a difficult Sunday in Misano. The British has started fifth, but on the first lap he has gone down to seventh place. When he was fighting to recover positions and get closer to the leading group, he has crashed, which has ended all his options. Dixon, who had scored points in the last eight races, already has his mind set on getting a great result in Indonesia next weekend.
12+1 Izan Guevara (+19.490): “This weekend was very difficult for us, but in the race I had a great first lap and that helped us. The pace was good, I didn’t expect to be able to do so many laps in the 1:36s. We get three valuable points.”
Jake Dixon (crash): “It has been unfortunate. Honestly, I have not done too much wrong, it just was not our day. I have crashed doing the same as what I have done before. I just lost the front and I have crashed. Misano has always been a little bit tough but I am happy because we have made good progress over the weekend and over the two weeks that we have raced here. In that sense, I am satisfied, but obviously I am not happy with the result.”
