ARAGON GP

Bittersweet finish in Aragon for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team

Dani Holgado and David Alonso were unable to finish the race due to an incident between them

The Aragon Grand Prix did not end in the best way for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders. After a weekend in which both had very good feelings and continued to make progress in the intermediate category, Dani Holgado and David Alonso approached the race ready to put on a good show for the local fans. However, after a good start by the two rookies, before completing the first lap, Dani Holgado crashed, taking his teammate with him, thus ending all options for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team this weekend. The Turkish rider Deniz Öncü took his first Moto2 victory, with Diogo Moreira and Barry Baltus completing the podium in a race where victory was decided by only three thousandths. Category leader Manu González finished ninth.

Dani Holgado (DNF): “I'm very sorry for the mistake and that it also caused my teammate to crash. I can only apologise to David, the team and all our sponsors."

David Alonso (DNF): “It wasn't the ending we hoped for. I started from the second row and wanted to fight for a good result, but it wasn't to be. Luckily, I only have a small abrasion on the ring finger of my left hand. Now it's time to rest, recover and come back strong in Italy."
