The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has been disqualified for not reaching the minimum regulatory weight after finishing seventh in Indonesia
Aron Canet has led the Indonesian GP from the start to the finish to claim his second victory of the year. The Spanish, who took pole position yesterday, has shown from the first lap that he was one step ahead of his rivals today and has won by more than six seconds over Ai Ogura. The World Championship leader has battled with Alonso López and Fermín Aldeguer for the two remaining podium positions and has beaten both to increase his World Championship lead, while López has moved up to the last step of the podium. After his second position in Mandalika, Ogura now has 42 points over Sergio García, who has crashed for the second consecutive race. Behind them, the differences in the standings remain minimal, although the protagonists have changed: Canet has climbed to third position tied on points with López, 52 off Ogura, and Joe Roberts has gone down to fifth place, 55 off.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara had achieved his best result of the season after finishing in seventh position in Mandalika. However, after the race, he has been disqualified for not reaching the minimum weight limit. The Spanish has started from nineteenth position and has completed a great comeback. Guevara has made a great start that has allowed him to cross the finish line on the first lap in eleventh position. On the second lap he has recovered one more place and, since then, he has always remained in the top ten. Neither Guevara nor his teammate Jake Dixon have had a good Sunday in Mandalika. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has started from second and had high expectations for the race. However, on the second lap, when he was fighting for fifth position, he has crashed, a crash that has ended all his chances of returning to the podium. Despite this, the British has recovered the bike and has returned to the track, although he has only been able to finish in twenty-second position. CFMOTO Inde Aspar already has its mind set on the Japanese GP, where it hopes to get a great result to forget the race in Indonesia.
22nd Jake Dixon (+59.842): “It has been a disastrous race. I don't know what really has happened because we did not touch anything on the bike, but it has felt completely different. When González has overtaken me, he has gone wide, then I have tried to close the inside and the front has closed. I have not felt comfortable at all. Despite this, I have stayed out to see if anything changed.”
Izan Guevara (disqualified): “I am very happy with the race. Once again, we have started from far back, which is what is penalising us this season, because in the race the pace is good. Today I have set a great pace, I have ridden in 1:34 the whole time. I have finished ten seconds off Canet and four off the second. I am satisfied, but I know that, if I had started from further up, I could have fought for the front positions.”
