Autosolar GASGAS Aspar arrives to Jerez full of ambition

Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara will try to give joy to the fans in the first race of the season in Spain

The Moto2 World Championship comes to Spain for the first time this season. After starting the Championship in Portugal, the intermediate category riders travelled to Argentina and the United States for the second and third rounds of the year. Tony Arbolino won in Argentina and Pedro Acosta took victory in Portugal and the Americas Grand Prix. Now it is time for the Spanish Grand Prix, where the Italian and the Spanish will try to get a good result that could allow them to keep leading the overall standings.

After an Americas Grand Prix in which the Autosolar GASGAS Aspar riders did not have the best luck, Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara arrive at the Jerez - Angel Nieto circuit with ambitious aims. The British rider will try to recover from the previous Grand Prix, where he couldn't start the race due to an incident on the warm-up lap. Dixon, who is sixth in the overall standings, will try to complete a great weekend to fight for the podium again. His teammate Izan Guevara returns to a special circuit for him. On this track, he got his first victory in 2022 and, already in 2023, he completed a couple of testing days with the Moto2, from which he could extract valuable information. The Spanish rider arrives with good feelings after his debut in the category and will try to keep adapting to the bike together with his team to fight for the points.

Jake Dixon: “I'm looking forward to race in Jerez and to see what we are capable of. We'll see what we can do. We didn't do bad last year, but I need to recover after the Americas Grand Prix. We will try to be solid, consistent and finish the race.”

Izan Guevara: “This is our second race in Moto2. The feelings in Austin were good and I think I can take another step forward in Jerez. It is a circuit we know well, last year I got my first win of the season there and this year we have already ridden there in preseason tests, so we have some information. I'm looking forward to getting there and keep enjoying myself on the bike. We will try to keep improving and get some points.”
