The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders will compete this weekend in the second round of the double header at one of the most legendary circuits on the calendar
David Alonso and Dani Holgado are almost halfway through their first season in Moto2 after returning to form at the Italian Grand Prix. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders arrive in the Netherlands this week to complete the tenth round of 2025, a year full of changes and learning for the two rookies. After both riders scored important points in Mugello, where Alonso finished eighth and Holgado fifteenth, the TT Circuit Assen will welcome them for a Grand Prix that will also celebrate the centenary of the first TT. David Alonso continues to work on his recovery, although his hand injury did not prevent him from being consistent and competitive at Mugello. The Colombian rider is fully focused on returning to fight with the fastest riders on the grid at one of the few circuits where he has yet to reach the podium. At the same time, Dani Holgado demonstrated his ability to overcome adversity at the Italian event, having to fight his way back up the field from the start. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider, who remains the best rookie in the category, continues to make steady progress in the intermediate class.
The last round saw Manu González back on top of the podium to maintain his lead in the intermediate category for another week ahead of his main rival, Aron Canet, who finished third at Mugello and is now nine points behind in the Moto2 standings. Diogo Moreira, in third place, maintains his position but is closely followed by fourth-placed Barry Baltus. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders are thirteenth and fifteenth, although separated by only one point. In addition, both remain the best rookies of the season.
Dani Holgado: “Assen is another very physical circuit with many changes of direction. At the start of the season, this is something that is proving to be our weak point, so we will take advantage of this to continue improving and working on it. I'm really looking forward to continuing to learn and enjoy the category. Every weekend is a new challenge for me, and I'm approaching it with the team with great enthusiasm.”
David Alonso: “I've had three days to continue recovering my finger and to recover from the race in Italy. These races are very close, but the weekend at Mugello helped us to become competitive again and served as training to arrive at Assen in good condition.”
