The Grand Prix of the Americas will welcome the CFMOTO Power Electronics Aspar riders this weekend
After a week's break the Moto2 World Championship reaches its next stop: the Grand Prix of the Americas. The CFMOTO Power Electronics Aspar riders are already working on a new race weekend, ready to continue improving in their first races in the intermediate category. David Alonso and Dani Holgado have great memories of the American track, where they finished first and second respectively last year in their final season in Moto3. In the last Grand Prix, Holgado again achieved a remarkable result and finished in a creditable ninth position in Argentina. In addition, the Spanish rider, seventh overall, remains the best rookie in the intermediate category, whose classification is led by Manu González, closely followed by Jake Dixon and Aron Canet.
David Alonso arrives in Texas focused on working hard to continue the upward trend in his adaptation to the category. After a difficult start to the season, the Moto3 World Champion is not giving up and faces this weekend as a new opportunity to recover the good feeling he had at the start of the Grand Prix of Argentina to try to score the first points of the year.
Dani Holgado: “In Austin we will continue in the same line and try to get the good results we are achieving, because we are fighting with other riders who have a lot of experience. Above all, I want to continue with this learning process because I feel more and more comfortable with the bike, we are not making mistakes.”
David Alonso: “Our goal in Austin is to continue testing and looking for the limits of the bike in practice. We need to understand why the bike changes so much from practice to the race and we will work to find a way to move forward in the adaptation to the intermediate category.”
