The Power Electronics Aspar Team arrives in Austria leading the team standings, with Jordi Torres also inside the riders’ top 3
Red Bull Ring will host this weekend the third round of the MotoE World Championship in Austria, where the Power Electronics Aspar Team arrives as the best team in the electric category, after Kevin Zannoni and Jordi Torres' double podium in France and the latter's podium in the Netherlands. The Spanish rider had one of his best weekends in Assen, which allowed him to close the gap in the overall standings to take third place, 20 points behind leader Andrea Mantovani. Between them, Alessandro Zaccone is second, seven points ahead of Torres. His teammate Kevin Zannoni is sixth with 46 points.
Power Electronics Aspar Team riders have very clear objectives for the two races that will take place at the Red Bull Ring. Jordi Torres and Kevin Zannoni are ready to take another step forward to climb positions in the standings and get even closer to the lead. The Spaniard, who has been on the podium in the two race weeks held so far, has worked hard to be in the best possible shape for this third MotoE appointment. The Power Electronics Aspar Team rider fought for the podium in Austria last season and, on this occasion, will be aiming to repeat the fight for the top positions to close the gap with the leader of the MotoE standings. Teammate Kevin Zannoni wants to return to the top positions this weekend, as he did in France, after the results of the last round were not as expected. The Italian faces a new challenge in a circuit that suits his riding style very well and where he finished on the podium in both races in 2023. Torres and Zannoni will have two new opportunities this Saturday to continue progressing and fighting for the top of the standings.
Jordi Torres: “We have worked hard these past few weeks to arrive in Austria in good shape. Weight is important on this circuit and considering that we all have a similar configuration, I think it's something that can make a difference. The Red Bull Ring has a lot of straights and a lot of braking, so I tried to make up some ground in terms of weight. The team is working like clockwork and I feel very comfortable with the bike. Last year we had two good races here, and now we have a bike that brakes well, which will be very useful for this weekend and to continue fighting for good results.”
Kevin Zannoni: “Red Bull Ring is a circuit that I really like and where I have achieved very good results: I got my first podium in the world championship, we have fought for victory there... It's a track that suits my riding style very well, with a lot of braking. The races at Assen didn't go as we wanted, but we managed to score important points for the standings. In Austria, I want to be back at the front and fight for victory to make up positions in the standings.”
