The Italian rider will start from third in Assen after being fastest in Q1. His teammate Jordi Torres will start from fourth
Openbank Aspar Team rider Kevin Zannoni will start from third position in both Dutch GP races. Zannoni has shone in the MotoE qualifying. He has first passed Q1 with the best time and in Q2 he has achieved the third best time, which is enough for him to start tomorrow from the front row of the grid. Zannoni has finished five tenths off Italian Alessandro Zaccone’s pole position and two tenths off the second, Héctor Garzó. The third place is the Openbank Aspar Team rider's best position on the grid so far this season and from the front row he will fight to regain the lead of the World Championship, in Mattia Casadei’s hands at the moment. The Italian has done a mistake during Q2 that has ended with him going off the track and he has only been able to finish ninth.
Openbank Aspar Team rider Jordi Torres will start from fourth position, which is also his best qualifying position so far this season. Torres has started the Dutch GP in a strong way, ending free practice in first position and with a good pace. The Spanish has managed to go straight into Q2 and has finished with the fourth best time in qualifying, six tenths off from pole. Despite achieving his best grid position this year, Torres has not felt comfortable during the qualifying session and is confident that he will be able to show his full potential in tomorrow's races to fight for his first podium of the season.
3rd Kevin Zannoni 1:40.015 (+0.517): “The start of the day has been difficult and we needed to improve. The team has worked hard to achieve a good qualifying because we know that it is the key in MotoE. We have achieved it and I am very happy. In the last races I have started from behind and it is not always easy to come back. Tomorrow we will give our best and try to have a good start.”
4th Jordi Torres 1:40.108 (+0.664): “I have not been able to complete the qualifying as I expected. I have not done a clean lap because I have had confidence problems with the front. If we compare today's fourth position with the rest of the year, I cannot complain, but our goals are still bigger. We have a good set-up on the bike, I feel comfortable and we have worked very well. We are ahead and we have pace, as we have shown in free practice. Tomorrow will be a test to compare the work we have done today with the work of the others.”
