Holgado and Alonso complete a tight Friday in Thailand

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar riders finished the day six tenths of a second behind the leader

The Grand Prix of Thailand kicked off a new season for CFMOTO Inde Aspar. The Moto2 riders, Dani Holgado and David Alonso, face the challenge of adapting to the intermediate category and this Friday they showed a great version in their first contact with their new rivals. Diogo Moreira was the fastest, closely followed by Manu González and Deniz Öncü. Dani Holgado went from strength to strength despite the high temperature conditions. After finishing the free practice in eighteenth position, Holgado lowered his time in the afternoon by almost a second, he was only six tenths behind the leader and finished seventeenth.

David Alonso is also feeling more and more comfortable and this Friday he focused on continuing to understand Moto2 riding. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar rider was able to draw positive conclusions from this start, being able to improve his time and fight for the direct pass to Q2 in the afternoon session. Alonso finished in twenty-first position, although this result leaves him just seven tenths behind the leader, demonstrating the great equality of the riders in the intermediate category.

17th Dani Holgado 1:35.628 (+0.598): “The first day as a Moto2 rider has been quite positive. The time was good, but the most important thing was the feeling I had. We worked focused on improving and riding alone. I'm super happy, there is a lot to improve, but this afternoon we will continue to study to cut some tenths. We are not so far away, so I think if we polish some things we can do well tomorrow in qualifying.”

21st David Alonso 1:35.721 (+0.691): “Yesterday I got sunburnt and you have to add that the bikes are at about 100 degrees, everything burns... it's like being in a sauna. Even so, it was a positive day and we were able to do some quality laps. This circuit with the Moto2 is a lot of fun. Our goal is to further reduce the gap to the first and understand the style of the category better and better. We are building and having a better and better rhythm. Every time we go out on track we understand more and more how to make the most of it and we will continue to do so tomorrow.”
