The Italian rider will join Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’’s Moto2 squad next season with the clear goal of fighting for the World Championship.
Celestino Vietti will join the CFMOTO Aspar Team in Moto2 for the 2027 season, aiming to contend for the title. Vietti will return to riding a Kalex for the first time since 2024, a year in which he secured three victories and a total of 165 points in the intermediate class. He currently has 112 points—having reached the podium three times—and sits seventh in the overall standings, just a few points behind the team’s current riders, David Alonso and Dani Holgado.
Indeed, the move to MotoGP for both Holgado and Alonso required the team to completely revamp its Moto2 lineup. For 2027, the CFMOTO Aspar Team combines the experience of Vietti—who has more than a hundred Grand Prix starts in the category to date, with 8 wins and 17 podiums—with the ambition of Máximo Quiles, who confirmed his step up from Moto3 to the intermediate class at the start of the summer break.

We are constantly fighting for the top positions with Alonso and Holgado—something we wanted to replicate next season—which is why we turned to him. We are once again counting on a rider from the VR46 Riders Academy, following the experiences of Bagnaia and Migno in the World Championship, as well as Bezzecchi and Marini in what currently is the MotoJunior. We hope to provide Vietti with all the tools needed to fight for the Moto2 title together.”
