The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team returns to action at the British Grand Prix after a three-week break
Moto3 leader Máximo Quiles returns to the circuit where he achieved his first world championship podium. The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider will once again be the main contender to beat at Silverstone after narrowly missing out on victory in the last race, held in Germany. Furthermore, following a near-perfect first half of the year, during the summer break his move up to the intermediate category in 2027 with the CFMOTO Aspar Team was confirmed. Of the eleven races contested, Quiles has reached the podium ten times and secured victory in six of them. The British circuit is one of his favorites, and one of his main objectives will be to match his 2025 result, when he finished second, or even to contend for the win. With a 104-point lead over the second-placed rider in Moto3, the CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider feels no pressure and isn’t focused on the overall standings: his goal remains concentrating on getting through each race in the best possible way.
His teammate Marco Morelli will face a circuit unfamiliar to him. This will be the Argentine’s first time competing at Silverstone, although he has already shown on previous occasions that being a rookie is no obstacle for him. Morelli’s progress in recent races has been remarkable, and after a podium finish in Assen and fourth place in Germany (where he also secured a front-row start for the first time), the Argentine rider occupies fourth position in the Moto3 standings, eleven points behind third-placed Álvaro Carpe and twelve behind second-placed Brian Uriarte. The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team’s excellent form is also reflected in the team standings, where they remain at the top with a lead of over ninety points.
Máximo Quiles: “I’m really looking forward to this second half of the season. There are some circuits I love coming up, starting with Silverstone, and then Aragón and Austria. We’ve been able to disconnect for a few days and now we’re focused on this race. We have a good lead in the standings, but we can’t relax. I’m going to keep working the same way and fighting for podiums and wins, but always in a smart way. If we can’t win one weekend, we’ll try to score as many points as possible, and that will also be very positive.”
Marco Morelli: “The Silverstone race will be the first of this second half of the season and also my first at this circuit. I’m eager to try it because it’s a very wide track and it can be a lot of fun. When I was little, I always wanted to race here. We’ll keep working the same way as always to consolidate all the progress we’ve made in the last few races. I hope to have a good weekend and be consistent from day one.”
