Dani Holgado and David Alonso aim to build on their recent progress

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team returns to competition with another double-header. The Italian Grand Prix will be the next stop for Dani Holgado and David Alonso following a highly competitive weekend in Barcelona. Both riders have shown significant improvement in recent races, particularly at the Catalan round, where they finished fifth and sixth. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders arrive in Italy at a very positive time for both of them. On this occasion, they face the challenge of competing at Mugello, one of the fastest and most technical circuits on the World Championship calendar.

The riders in the intermediate class are keen to maintain their upward trajectory to close the gap on the front-runners. Following their excellent work at the Catalan Grand Prix and the subsequent test, Holgado and Alonso are aiming to take another step forward and fight for the podium once again. Whilst the Spaniard has already secured two wins this season, at the Thai and Brazilian Grands Prix, the Colombian is still chasing that first victory, although he has come very close on several occasions. Both Holgado and Alonso scored points at Mugello last year, in their first season in the intermediate category. Previously, both have won the Italian Grand Prix: Alonso did so in 2024 and Holgado in 2023. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team is confident of continuing to improve this weekend to close the gap in the Moto2 overall standings. Alonso is fifth, 46.5 points behind leader Manu González, and just fifteen points off third place. Meanwhile, Holgado is seventh, 55.5 points behind the leader, but only nine points behind his team-mate.

David Alonso: “We’ve been able to rest well after the Grand Prix and the test we had last week. I’m looking forward to getting back to my normal routine, as in the last two races my off-track routine was a bit disrupted by recovery work. I feel great and I want to focus on being consistent; I don’t mind if I’m a bit faster or slower. If I manage that, the speed will come.”

Dani Holgado: “We have a great fworking base for the weekend at Mugello following the work done in the last few races and the test. This category never stops teaching me lessons and showing me new things. I’m really motivated and can’t wait to get to work with the team to keep improving and get back to the front.”
