The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team arrives in France ready to continue adding to its successes in the intermediate category

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team arrives at the French Grand Prix, the fifth round of the season, aiming to further consolidate its progress after a demanding race in Jerez. The Spanish Grand Prix delivered an intense race in the intermediate category, marked by a high pace from the start and a very close battle for the leading positions, especially for David Alonso, who finished fourth, while his teammate Holgado was eleventh. Le Mans will be a new challenge for the intermediate category riders, who were able to draw very positive conclusions from the last race and will arrive at one of the most technical circuits on the calendar as prepared as possible.

The intermediate category has been one of the most competitive since the start of the season, something reflected every weekend in the high level of competition among all the riders. They arrive to Le Mans, a circuit known for its technical difficulty, with numerous braking and acceleration zones. Furthermore, the constantly changing weather conditions will add extra excitement to the weekend. Alonso and Holgado are aware of the importance of securing a good starting position. This will be their second time competing in Moto2 in France (last year Alonso finished eleventh, while Holgado was sixteenth), so they will leverage their previous experience to be competitive from the opening laps. In the last race in Jerez, Alonso, after a mistake at the start, recovered several positions to just miss the podium. Having learned his lesson, the Colombian is confident of being competitive in France from the first practice session this Friday. Dani Holgado, on the other hand, had to fight his way through the pack and faced a challenging race, finishing eleventh. With 38 points, the Spaniard remains fifth in the overall standings and is aiming for another podium finish, something he hasn't achieved since the Brazilian Grand Prix. His teammate David Alonso is following closely behind, having yet to reach the podium in 2016, but remaining sixth in the standings, just one point behind Holgado.

Dani Holgado: “I’m really looking forward to riding in France. Le Mans is a very technical circuit, and we’ll need to work hard throughout the weekend. The race in Jerez didn’t go as planned, but my goals are clear: to keep improving and enjoy myself. We have a lot to learn at every Grand Prix, so we’ll be going all out.”

David Alonso: “We're arriving at a circuit with a huge fan base, which is always appreciated. It's a very short track where you can do a lot of laps, but it demands a completely different riding style than Jerez. We'll have to keep a close eye on the conditions, because it can always rain and it's cold. If it rains, we'll have a good opportunity to improve in these conditions, which is one of my areas for improvement. I want to build on the weekend from Friday and get some mileage in because there are a lot of races coming up and we'll be able to ride the Moto2 bike more naturally. The goal is to bring out a better performance in France and work with the focus on Sunday's race.”
