Dani Holgado secured the fourth-fastest time after progressing through Q1, whilst his teammate David Alonso finished ninth

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team took a big step forward this Saturday at Mugello. Dani Holgado was just two tenths of a second off the front row after having to go through Q1 and will start tomorrow’s race from fourth position. David Alonso will start from ninth place and is confident of moving up the field. Championship leader Manu González took pole position for the Italian Grand Prix, followed by Filip Salac and Álex Escrig in second and third places.

The second day at the Autódromo Internazionale del Mugello has been very positive for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders. Whilst David Alonso has been working hard to prepare thoroughly for Sunday’s race, Dani Holgado has also taken the opportunity to fine-tune the final details before competing in Q1. The Spaniard topped the first timed session with the fastest lap and was able to battle for the top spots on the starting grid alongside Alonso. In Q2, Holgado improved his feel for the bike and overcame the issues he experienced during yesterday’s sessions. This improvement was reflected in this afternoon’s results, when the Spaniard set his best time of the weekend (1:49.066), placing him in fourth position, two tenths off the front row. David Alonso also stuck to the work plan to ensure he is as well prepared as possible for tomorrow’s race. The Colombian secured a place in Q2 on Friday and has continued to make progress in several areas, particularly standing out in the fast lap, an area that still needed work and where he aims to be more competitive from the very first laps of the race. With a time of 1:49.336, his best of the weekend, Alonso will start from ninth position on the third row.

4th Dani Holgado 1:49.066 (+0.592): “I'm very happy with how the day went. Both the team and I have done a great job fixing yesterday's situation. Together we were able to overcome yesterday's problems. Fourth place is an incredible result; starting from the second row gives you an extra boost. But I'm even happier with the performance itself. We still need to improve a few small details, but the pace is very good.”

9th David Alonso 1:49.336 (+0.862): “We were able to complete a race simulation this morning which helped us to do a good physical workout for tomorrow's race and to maintain consistency. In qualifying we were able to improve in terms of the time attack. I gave it my all in this practice, but we've already seen aspects where we need to improve.”
