In the upcoming JuniorGP, David Alonso will continue racing with the team and both Italian Filippo Farioli and Australian Jacob Roulstone will join the team.
The current FIM Moto3 Junior World Champion team - both in 2021, with Dani Holgado, and in 2020, with Izan Guevara - presents the riders with which it will aspire to renew the title in the new named JuniorGP. Colombian David Alonso will keep competing for the GASGAS Aspar Team and will be joined by Italian Filippo Farioli and Australian Jacob Roulstone.
After becoming Champion of the European Talent Cup in 2020, David Alonso has completed a great learning season in the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship, in which the Colombian has scored two podiums, finishing in 7th overall. All this in a year in which he has also won the Red Bull Rookies Cup title. In 2022, Alonso will continue his progression hand in hand with the GASGAS Aspar Team fighting to reach the top together again.
His teammates in the GASGAS Aspar Team in 2022 will be Filippo Farioli and Jacob Roulstone. The Italian comes to the team with two years of experience in the JuniorGP, in 2020 he debuted in the European Talent Cup and last year he competed in the Junior FIM Moto3 World Championship. The Australian will make the upgrade from the European Talent Cup to the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship. And he will do it after getting 3 podiums last season, one of them a win.
The GASGAS Aspar Team will start competing in the 2022 Moto3 Junior FIM World Championship on May 8th in Estoril (Portugal) and will finish the championship again in Valencia on October 30th, playing a total of 8 rounds.
David Alonso: “I am very happy to continue being part of the GASGAS Aspar Team family. I am looking forward to the new year. After a first season in Moto3 where despite some difficult situations we have learned a lot, I hope to continue learning and enjoying with the bike. We are heading into the preseason to take another step forward in terms of riding, body position and maturity, to be able to start the season in the best possible way. I don't want to be obsessed with results, the important thing is to enjoy the year and go race by race fighting to be on top”.
Filippo Farioli: “I am very happy to be part of GASGAS Aspar Team next season. Apart from being a better team, it is a team with which I will be able to grow and mature as a rider. For next year, my main objective will be to give my best in each race, and to be able to get the front positions. Now, it's time to fully prepare during the winter to arrive in perfect condition for the first race of the season”.
Jacob Roulstone: “I’m really looking forward to facing the new challenges and the new year with the GASGAS Aspar Team. I think overall, it's going to be quite difficult. It will be a season of adaptation, getting to know the team, the way of working and the new championship. My goal is to constantly improve every time I hit the track and to improve my riding and my speed. I hope I can be fighting for the championship in 2023. It may be a difficult start, but I am sure I will learn a lot."
